I don’t know what exactly happened or changed in the last year but everyday I feel more and more the urge of creating knocking on the door. I kinda always knew it’s there and i was always interested in trying new things, creating something, even if it looked like shit or was a silly idea that was hard to put in practice. My mom knows a lot about that. When I was younger I would always come up with new project and wanted to start doing it immediately, no skill, no patience, just a vision in my head that i struggled to put onto paper. But something changed…now i have more clear vision how to actually start doing things. Also i got tired of asking other people do things for me because i am not able to do it myself. But sometimes i haven’t even tried?! I just came to the conclusion nah thats not my thing, i suck at it. But now growing older i developed attitude just fuck it, i will do it myself even if i have no idea what I am doing. And surprise… it actually works. I always thought no I can’t draw and I am not an artist. But art is such a relative thing and there are no rules or limitations. You can start doing whatever fuck you want and no one cares what you doing. But if you put all your heart into it and it makes you happy, people who will appreciate it will find you. The whole point is it makes YOU happy and that energy spreads fast and its infectious. And once you realize this oh boy it feels fricking good. So if you have been thinking about something lately or in years, just go do it. There is no point in waiting, you are just wasting your time. Seriously, get the fuck up and go do it.🩵

I remember being a little girl, standing at crossroads I didn’t understand yet.

High school.
No vision, no calling. I knew i love nature and animals and sports but there was no such a career like this i guessed.
So I followed my friends into business school.
Office dreams. Good salary. “Smart choice” according to our society.

Four years of numbers that never felt like mine.

Then university.
Again — no clear direction.
Only a quiet pull inside my chest that whispered:
Go far. See the world. Live somewhere warm.

So I chose tropical agriculture. Sustainability. Soil and seeds and rain.
Not because I had a plan —
but because I trusted that doors open for those who move.

The year before, I had been to Sri Lanka.
My first real taste of the tropics. Surfing, ocean, culture…
Chaos and color and softness all at once.
Something in me woke up there.

So when summer school in West Sumatra appeared,
I said yes before fear could speak.

I studied traditional herbal medicine for my thesis.
I listened to village stories.
And then I found myself in the Banyak Islands.

Tiny pieces of land floating in endless blue.
No signal.
Electricity that came and went like the tide.
Nights full of stars and just peace.

I remember one evening —
the sky painted pink,
the moon melting into a still turquoise lagoon —
and I thought:

This. This is how I want to live.

No blueprint.
No idea how.
Just a promise to myself under a tropical sky.

And somehow, when you dare to promise your life something,
life starts rearranging itself quietly behind the scenes.

A year later, I received a scholarship to return to West Sumatra.
And in 2019, I moved to the Mentawai Islands.

I’m still here.
Still choosing the ocean.
Still choosing slow mornings and island moons.

If you feel lost —
maybe you are not lost at all.

Maybe you are just collecting the pieces
that will one day make perfect sense.

Trust the detours.
They are sacred too.🩵

My heart aches when I see how disconnected we’ve become from the real magic out there. I can’t understand why so many choose to live fast, consume poison, and attach their worth to material things — chasing status, chasing numbers in an account, chasing more but never arriving.

Some might say we are hiding from the real world and its responsibilities.
I would say we are returning to what actually matters. Returning to what we were always meant to be as human beings.
